6-year-old falls into 70-feet open borewell in MP's Rewa; rescue ops on
PTC News Desk: A 6-year-old boy fell into a 70-feet open borewell in an agricultural field in Manika village of Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district, officials said on Friday.
According to Additional SP of Rewa, Anil Sonkar, "This borewell in which the six-year-old boy fell and is currently trapped is 6 cm in diameter. The child fell into the borewell while playing. The locals alerted the police, and the rescue team arrived at the scene and launched an operation to rescue him. Two earthmovers have been pressed into service as part of the ongoing rescue efforts."

He went on to say that a parallel pit was being dug to safely remove the trapped six-year-old.
"A Varanasi rescue team will also arrive at the scene shortly. We're trying to figure out exactly where the boy is. We hope that he will be rescued soon."
