'Akhilesh Yadav responsible if i get killed': SP expelled MLA Pooja Pal's letter to party chief
PTC News Desk: Uttar Pradesh MLA Pooja Pal, who represents the Chayal assembly constituency in Kaushambi, has written to Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, expressing concern for her safety and stating that he and the party should be held accountable if anything happens to her.
“If I am murdered, the real culprit will be Akhilesh Yadav. My husband was killed in broad daylight, and instead of standing with us, the SP shielded the criminals. Today, I am receiving threats and I fear the same fate,” she said.
Recently expelled from the Samajwadi Party, Pal wrote that her husband, Raju Pal, was murdered in broad daylight, and instead of supporting her family, the party backed the accused. She alleged that she is now receiving threats and fears meeting the same fate.
Pal added that she once trusted Akhilesh Yadav’s leadership and hoped for justice but feels deeply let down. She further accused the party of favouring certain communities while neglecting backward classes, extremely backward classes, and Dalits.
“I believed Akhilesh Yadav would fight against criminals and deliver justice, but the reality was the opposite. In SP, backwards, extremely backwards and Dalits are treated as second-class citizens. Only Muslims are considered first-class, even if they are hardened criminals,” she alleged.
She credited the current BJP government for taking action and punishing the culprits. “Akhilesh Yadav did nothing to ensure justice or dignity for the family. Instead, the Samajwadi Party and the Saifai family always stood by the murderers. It was only under the BJP government that the culprits were punished,” she added.
In the letter, Pal also questioned her expulsion from the party while highlighting that while she was removed from the party for allegedly working for a BJP candidate in Rajya Sabha elections, many party leaders had themselves supported BJP candidates in the past without consequences.
