'Processing this shock, not giving up': Kapil Sharma's Canada cafe after firing

PTC News Desk: A day after firing, Kapil Sharma's Kap's Cafe in Canada has issued a strong-worded statement. In a note on Instagram, the eatery - located in Surrey, British Columbia - said that the incident has left them shocked and even as they process the same, they won't be giving up and will stand firm against violence.

"We opened Kap's Cafe with hopes of bringing warmth, community and joy through delicious coffee and friendly conversations. To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing this shock but we are not giving up," the eatery said in the message.

The cafe also thanked all the well-wishers for their support and prayers.

"This cafe exists because of your belief in what we're building together. Let's stand firm against violence and ensure Kap's Cafe remains a place of warmth and community," the Instagram note further said.

According to early reports, multiple shots were fired at the cafe, though fortunately, no injuries were reported. Local police swiftly cordoned off the area and began a full-scale investigation.

Harjit Singh Laddi, a suspected Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative and one of India's most-wanted terrorists listed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has reportedly claimed responsibility. Laddi allegedly cited offensive remarks made by Kapil Sharma as his reason for the attack, though no official confirmation has been provided regarding the nature of those comments.
