IMD predicts hail, thunderstorms in Chandigarh Punjab and Haryana on these dates
PTC Web Desk: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted hail and thunderstorms in Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana on February 19 and February 20. Chandigarh has experienced a gradual temperature surge, surpassing 24 degrees in maximum temperature.
Attributing the phenomenon to a western disturbance, an IMD scientist said , "Due to a western disturbance, rain, thunderstorm, and hail activity will be present over Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana on February 19 and 20." He also expressed optimism about the increasing temperatures, deeming it a positive trend.

On Thursday, Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5 degrees Celsius, with Mohali in Punjab at 11.1 degrees and Panchkula in Haryana at 8.2 degrees. On February 14, the maximum temperature in Chandigarh reached 24.4 degrees, with a minimum of 9.4 degrees.
The shift in weather is noticeable, marking the end of the intense cold, as indicated by an IMD official who remarked, "The fierce cold has gone now, and spring is here as temperatures – both nighttime and daytime – have increased. If you have noticed, it is really warm during the day."
