PTC News Desk: People in Delhi who want to avoid long queues outside liquor shops can now book their purchases in advance through the new Delhi Liquor Booking app. The app allows customers to select a brand, choose a bottle size, make an online payment and reserve their order. However, they must still visit the selected shop to collect the liquor, as home delivery is not available.

The system has been introduced by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) to reduce crowds at its liquor outlets, especially during busy hours. Customers can complete the selection and payment process through the app instead of spending time searching for their preferred brand and waiting at the billing counter.

How to book liquor through app ?

Customers must first install the Delhi Liquor Booking app. They can then select their preferred brand, bottle size and quantity before choosing a DSIIDC liquor shop from which to collect the order. Payment must be made digitally through the app.

After successful payment, the app generates a QR code. Customers must visit their selected shop and show the code at the counter to collect their order.

Booking rules and conditions

Customers must collect their orders within 48 hours of booking and payment. They can cancel the booking before collecting the liquor, but returns are not allowed once the order has been handed over.

The service is currently available at around 200 liquor shops and outlets operated by DSIIDC. It is not available at every government-run liquor shop in Delhi.

Existing age and purchase limits also apply. Customers must be at least 25 years old to buy liquor, and the quantity purchased must remain within the limits set under Delhi’s excise rules.

The main benefit of the app is that customers can choose, pay for and reserve their preferred liquor before reaching the shop. While it may help reduce waiting time, customers still need to visit the outlet to collect their orders.
