This arrest follows a prior capture on October 7 by the Delhi Police Special Cell of two individuals linked to the Arsh Dalla-Sukha Duneke gang, operating from Canada. One of the detainees was involved in the murder of Sandeep Nangal Ambian, the British Kabaddi team's captain, in March of the preceding year. Arshdeep Singh, alias Arsh Dala, aged 27, originates from Dalla village in Punjab's Moga district. He has ties to radical groups and the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF). Associated with a notorious Canadian gangster, Goldy Brar, Arshdeep resides in Surrey, British Columbia, with his family. His passport, issued in Jalandhar in 2017, is valid until 2027.
Arsh Dala's involvement in terror funding, weapon smuggling, and orchestrating targeted assassinations in Punjab surfaced prominently in 2020. Intelligence reports suggest his record for violent activities surpasses that of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the Sikh leader. Arsh Dala collaborated with Nijjar, involved in the murder of Tejinder, also known as Pinka, the owner of Sunshine Clothes Store in Moga in 2021. These arrests mark significant strides in dismantling the nefarious activities of such extremist elements.
