Delhi Police special cell expands investigation across 6 states following Parliament security breach

Parliament Security Breach: The Delhi Police's special cell has dispatched teams to six states—Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Maharashtra—to delve into the security breach that shook Parliament on December 13.

In a concerted effort, these teams are meticulously investigating the incident that led to the breach. Additionally, 50 specialised teams have been mobilised to delve into the digital footprint, financial records, and backgrounds of the accused individuals. Ensuring a comprehensive probe, the Special Cell is relocating the accused to secure facilities across the six states under investigation.

Sagar Sharma, one of the implicated individuals, is currently under scrutiny by the Southern Range's Special Cell team based in Saket. Lalit Jha, purportedly the mastermind behind the breach, has been entrusted to the Janakpuri team of the Special Cell in the South Western Range. Notably, the team in Rajasthan's Nagaur recently recovered charred mobile phones belonging to the accused—a significant development in the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, Manoranjan D has been placed under the purview of the New Delhi Range's Special Cell, stationed at Lodhi Road. The team is rigorously interrogating and examining him for vital information. Furthermore, the entire investigation regarding Neelam Devi falls under the jurisdiction of the Special Cell team in New Friends Colony, recognised as the Counter-Intelligence Unit of the Special Cell.

All accused individuals were transferred to distinct units within the Special Cell on a recent Saturday. Sources with credible information have indicated that once the Special Cell completes its initial investigation, the NFC Special Cell team will take charge of further probing into the matter. This sequential handling of the case aims to ensure a thorough and exhaustive inquiry into the Parliament security breach.
