Himachal: Free bus services for women on these days, check details
Free travel ride for women in HRTC buses: While Himachal Pradesh is currently grappling with unprecedented rains and flash floods over the last two months which have thrown life out of gear in the state resulting in loss in several lives and monetary loss in crores, Himachal Government on Saturday announced free bus travel for women in government buses on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and Bhaiya Dooj.
Announcing good news for women, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation is all set to provide provide free travelling facilities to women in government buses on the festivals which symbolises the love between brothers and sisters.

The free bus facilities will be available from 12 noon on August 29 till 12 midnight of August 30, the day of Raksha Bandhan.
Notably, Rakshabandhan falls on August 30 while Bhaiya Dooj will be celebrated on November 15, 2023.
Earlier last year also, Haryana Roadways also announced free bus rides for women along with their children up to 15 years of age on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
Raksha Bandhan and Bhaiya Dooj, both are festivals to honour the bond between a brother and his sister. The festivals are a testament to the long-lasting bond between the two.
HRTC took the decision to provide free bus rides to women keeping in view the significance of the festival in which usually sisters travel to their brothers' homes to tie the sacred knot and celebrate the occasion together as a family. This travel can involve visits to different cities or states. The festival holds a lot of sentimental value and is a way to strengthen the relationship between brothers and sisters.
