PTC Web Desk: Five months after a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Baisaran Valley claimed the lives of 25 tourists, security agencies have arrested a local man accused of aiding the Pakistan-backed terrorist group, The Resistance Front (TRF).

Mohammad Yousuf Kataria, 26, a resident of Kulgam, was taken into custody on Wednesday and sent to 14-day police custody. The authorities said he provided logistical support to the terrorists, assisting them in navigating forested areas in Kulgam prior to the April 22 attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 persons, including 25 tourists.

As per sources, Kataria worked on a contractual basis and also taught local children. He had come in contact with the terrorists a few months before the deadly Pahalgam Terror Attack and began facilitating their movements. The arrest followed an analysis of weapons recovered during Operation Mahadev.

Investigators are continuing to trace the movements, hideouts, and Overground Worker (OGW) assistance provided to the Pahalgam attackers from the time they infiltrated Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier in June, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had arrested two men, Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar and Bashir Ahmad Jothar, who allegedly offered shelter and logistical support to the attackers. They also disclosed the identities of three terrorists involved in the attack.
