MP man who urinated on tribal worker arrested, charged under NSA

Sidhi (Madhya Pradesh), July 5: Madhya Pradesh man who was seen urinating on another man in a viral video was taken into custody, police said on Wednesday. The man identified as Pravesh Shukla has been charged under National Security Act (NSA).

In this regard, Anjulata Patle, the Additional Superintendent of Police for Sidhi, stated that the accused is being interrogated and that further legal action will be taken soon. ASP Patle told the media, "We have taken the accused (Pravesh Shukla) into custody. He is being questioned. Further legal action will be taken in the matter soon."


A case has been filed against the accused under sections 294 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as the SC/ST Act.

Earlier on Tuesday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that the accused in the incident will be handed stern punishment.

The state government, according to CM Chouhan, would not spare him at any cost, and the punishment of the accused will serve as a moral lesson for everyone.

CM Chouhan told the media in Bhopal, "I have instructed to give the accused the harshest punishment. It should serve as a moral lesson to everybody. We will not spare him. An accused does not belong to any religion, caste, or political party. Accused is an accused."

The incident occurred in the district's Kubri village, and the viral video shows the accused peeing on the man's face while inebriated.

The victim has been identified as Dasmat Ravat (36), a resident of Karaundi village in the district.

According to the police, a case has been lodged against the accused at the Bahari police station in the district under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 294, 504, section 3(1)(r)(s) of the SC/ST Act, and NSA has also been imposed on him, on the chief minister's directive.

Also, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra reacted to the incident, saying it was a condemnable incident.

"Strict action will be taken against the accused," stated Mishra.
