New Year 2024: Delhi Police issue traffic advisory for New Year’s Eve

New Year 2024: As the countdown for the New Year celebration has begun, Delhi Police is gearing up to ensure that the festivities go on peacefully without any untoward incidents.

Ahead of New Year 2024, Delhi Police issued traffic advisory for New Year’s Eve in the national capital.                    
Delhi Police promised to ensure all necessary arrangements and deployment of personnel at places where people are expected to gather for 31st December.

Details of New Year traffic advisory in Delhi 

The police and security officials will be deployed at several places in Delhi like Connaught Place, India Gate, Aerocity, Qutub Minar, Greater Kailash, Saket Mall, Netaji Subhash Place, Mukherjee Nagar area, Vasant Kunj Mall, EDM Mall, Pacific Mall, Champa Gali, Hudson lane, Hauz Khas and other crowded places. Traffic will controlled in the Connaught Place area after 8 pm.

Don’t Drink & Drive 

You can drink and make merry on New Year's eve but beware of driving afterwards. The Delhi Traffic Police, in a stern message to public appealed to avoid Drunk driving stating that law enforcement agencies will strictly enforce rules. Drunken behaviour, drunk driving such cases have always been strictly looked upon by the police. This time stricter actions will be taken as hundreds of cops has been deployed tp detect and prosecute drunk drivers.

New Year Eve Parking Arrangements 

Motorists can park their vehicles near Connaught Place at the following locations: near Gole Dak Khana on Kali Bari Marg, Pt. Pant Marg, Bhai Veer Singh Marg, near Patel Chowk on Rakab Ganj Road behind AIR, Mandi House on Copernicus Marg up to Baroda House, Minto Road on Deen Dayal Upadhaya Marg and Press Road area, Panchkuian Road on RK Ashram Marg, Chitrag, etc.

New Year's Eve is the last day of the year and the day before New Year's Day (January 1), which is the first month of the Gregorian calendar, consisting of 31 days. The month marks the beginning of the New Year and is named after Janus, the Roman god of doors and gates, symbolising new beginnings and transitions.
