Price of 19-kg commercial cylinder slashed by over Rs 200 in Delhi, Kolkata| check new rates
PTC News Desk: The central government on Saturday reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by over Rs 200 in Delhi and Kolkata, providing relief to restaurants, hotels and other businesses after months of sharp price hikes linked to the Iran war and the ongoing West Asia crisis.
A commercial LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 2,728 in Delhi and Rs 2,872.50 in Kolkata.
Under the latest revision, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been cut by Rs 202 in Delhi and Rs 209 in Kolkata. The new rates have come into effect immediately.
The price cut applies only to commercial LPG cylinders used by businesses. There has been no change in the cost of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders supplied to households.
This is the second straight reduction in commercial LPG prices after a similar cut in July. The move partially reverses the steep increases seen in recent months, when global LPG prices surged due to supply concerns caused by the Iran war and tensions across West Asia.
The announcement comes two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a nearly two-hour high-level meeting in Parliament with senior ministers and top officials to review India's preparedness amid the escalating conflict in West Asia.
