Strong tremors felt as 5.5 magnitude earthquake jolts Kolkata
PTC News Desk: Strong tremors were felt across Kolkata and several adjoining districts of West Bengal on Friday after a 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck Bangladesh.
The tremors triggered panic and people rushed out of buildings including homes, offices and schools as a precautionary measure.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or property damage.

Several commercial buildings housing offices were immediately evacuated and people were assembled in open areas amid uncertainty over the tremor's intensity.
Residents across multiple neighbourhoods reported ceiling fans swaying, furniture shaking and windows rattling, with the impact felt more strongly in high-rise buildings.
