Uttar Pradesh horror: Woman pours petrol on neighbour, set him afire in broad daylight
Uttar Pradesh horror: In an unfortunate, horrific and tragic incident, a man burnt to death after his neighbour allegedly poured petrol on him and set him afire in Kotwali area of Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli district.
The dreadful incident unfolded on Monday and came to limelight when the family members of the victim, rushed him to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. As per the statement of the hospital authorities, when the man has been brought to hospital he had already sustained 90 per cent burn injuries.
After the swift preliminary investigation, the deceased was a neighbour of the woman who poured petrol on him and set him on fire in broad daylight and after such gruesome act, the accused fled from the spot.
In the statement, police official said, "We got the information of a man burnt by petrol. After an investigation, the neighbour woman was found to be the culprit. The case is being further investigated, and after that, further action will be taken."
The investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, this is not the very first incident, earlier in June this year Delhi police arrested two persons for allegedly setting a man on fire by putting petrol on him in the national capital's Usmanpur area following a dispute.
In April this year a man from Delhi sprayed an inflammable liquid on passengers on the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express train and set them on fire, leaving three dead and eight with burn injuries.
Such spine-chilling incident and frightening incidents raise concern about the safety of entrusting the neighbours and people who live in our society.
