PTC Web Desk: In a harrowing incident, a woman and her daughter remained trapped in their car for several hours after a collision with a brick-laden tractor in Greater Noida on Friday. The incident was reported on the Yamuna Expressway near Sports City. The mother-daughter duo and the tractor driver sustained injuries in the mishap. Air bags helped them survive the major accident
In a video of the accident on the Yamuna Expressway, which has gone viral on social media, it shows the front portion of Hyundai Creta completely crushed. However, the woman along with her daughter got trapped inside. The Dankaur police, along with local residents, immediately started rescue operations using ropes and iron rods to free the trapped occupants. However, the operation took several hours. After being rescued, the injured were taken to the hospital.
According to information received from the Gautam Buddh Nagar police, the incident occurred on May 23 in the Dankaur police station area, near the JP Cut on the Yamuna Expressway. A Hyundai Creta car collided with a tractor from behind, with 32-year-old Shikha and her 58-year-old mother inside the vehicle. Both sustained injuries and were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. They belong to Delhi.
The police said they were rescued by cutting a part of the car with a cutter. The timely opening of the airbags played a crucial role in saving their lives. No complaints have been received from either party involved in the incident so far.
