New Year 2021: These states impose restrictions on parties, all you need to know
New Year 2021: Amid the threat of a new mutant strain of coronavirus across the world, several states in India have re-imposed certain restrictions on public gatherings including night curfew ahead of New Year celebrations.
Several state governments announced guidelines ahead of New Year 2021 celebrations to control the further spread of COVID-19.

Ever since the new mutant coronavirus strain wreaked havoc in the United Kingdom, it has spread to several other countries including India where 6 cases of UK strain were reported on Monday.
Here's the list of states that have imposed restrictions on New year's celebrations:
Maharashtra: The state government has imposed a Night curfew from 11 pm to 6 am that will remain in effect till January 5 even as non-essential shops will remain close during the night. No celebrations will be permitted in public places in Mumbai, Pune and other big cities of the state. Likewise, the churches have been directed not to hold open-air masses.

Karnataka: Night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am on New Year's eve. Large gatherings without social distancing banned in clubs, pubs, restaurants, etc till January 2.
Tamil Nadu: Celebrations in clubs, pubs, beach resorts, restaurants, and beaches are banned till January 1. No Night Curfew.
Punjab: Night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am till January 1 while mass gatherings at weddings, parties and other events have been banned.
Himachal Pradesh: Night curfew imposed in Shimla, Mandi, Kangra, and Kullu till January 5 even as no New Year celebrations in allowed in these districts at night.
Rajasthan: Night curfew from 8 pm to 6 am till January 1, markets to be closed by 7 pm as no New Year party can be organised in public places even as bursting firecrackers have been banned.
Uttarakhand: Dehradun administration banned public celebrations at hotels, bars, restaurants and other public places on New Year's Eve and New Year.
