Poor, youth, women, farmers- 4 biggest 'castes': PM Modi asserts people have confidence in his govt

PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Thursday that his work over the last decade has resulted in people having enormous faith in his government while criticizing previous administrations for acting like "mai baap" of citizens.

In his address to beneficiaries of various schemes as part of the government's Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra for saturation coverage of welfare schemes, the Prime Minister said that the poor, youth, women, and farmers are the four biggest "castes" for him, and their rise will make India developed.

The yatra, in which government 'raths' (chariots) are travelling to all corners, has sparked huge enthusiasm among people, with some referring to the vehicles as "Modi ki guarantee wali gaadi" (vehicles carrying Modi's guarantees), the Prime Minister said. He asserted that the masses are confident that he would keep all of his promises.

He needs their blessings for this, he said, emphasising that the programme will identify everyone who has been left out of welfare schemes aimed at them and that he will ensure saturation coverage in the coming years.

People across the country are saying that Modi's guarantee begins where people's expectations of others end, he said.

PM Modi stated that Bharat will not stop or tire because the people have resolved to make the country developed.

The Prime Minister further said that "In various corners of the country there is such enthusiasm for the yatra and there is a reason for it, as people have seen Modi, his work, in the last 10 years and therefore, they have immense confidence in the government and its efforts."

"People have also witnessed the period when previous governments considered themselves to be the'mai-baap' of the people. As a result, even after decades of independence, a large portion of the population was denied basic facilities," Prime Minister Modi stated.
