Rajasthan Assembly polls: 'Congress set to make history in Rajasthan,' says Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda
Rajasthan Assembly polls: As the election fervour intensifies ahead of the Rajasthan assembly polls' conclusion, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda exudes confidence in his party's ability to defy anti-incumbency and reclaim power. He emphasises the Congress's historical commitment to serving the people of Rajasthan as its prime strength, anticipating a significant turnaround in the state's political landscape.
"The Congress party's dedication to Rajasthan's welfare stands as our strongest asset. We aim to replicate in Haryana all the successful policies initiated here. Silent supporters stand firmly with us. The Congress is poised to rewrite Rajasthan's political history," stated Deepender Singh Hooda, expressing the party's optimism.
Echoing this sentiment, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also expressed certainty regarding a substantial majority mandate in the state. "People have inclined towards reinstating the current government. We are progressing towards securing 156 seats. The trend of alternating governments every five years will likely break. Rajasthan's populace appreciates our extensive efforts. The state will undoubtedly witness a repeat government," asserted CM Gehlot.
Ashok Gehlot further accused the central government of employing agencies like the ED to destabilize non-BJP governments across states.
"These agencies like ED and IT have a primary role in handling economic offenders. However, their focus has shifted towards orchestrating government changes instead of fortifying the nation's economy. They have paused their genuine duties for nine years, resorting to threatening MLAs to switch parties and engineering government changes in states like Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra under the guise of ED pressures and IT raids. This manipulative approach is unpopular among the people," Gehlot criticized.
Congress leader Imran Pratapgarhi commended the Rajasthan government's initiatives under Ashok Gehlot's leadership, deeming them exemplary for the entire nation.
"The policies and work ethic showcased by Ashok Gehlot's administration in Rajasthan over the past five years serve as a benchmark for the entire nation. The Congress is poised to form the government here," emphasized Imran Pratapgarhi.
Rajasthan braces for the assembly polls on November 25, with votes scheduled for tallying on December 3. Of the 200 assembly seats, 199 will witness the election, as the Karanpur constituency's elections were adjourned due to the demise of the Congress candidate, Gurmeet Singh Koonar.
In the 2018 elections, the Congress secured 99 seats, while the BJP won 73. Gehlot assumed the CM's office with the support of BSP MLAs and Independents.
