2017 NEET topper death shocks Punjab: Muktsar's Navdeep Singh found dead in hostel room

2017 NEET topper death: National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in 2017 topper Dr Navdeep Singh was found dead in his hostel room on Sunday morning. The shocking news has brought a pall of gloom in the Muktsar district of Punjab. 

25-year-old Navdeep belonged to Muktsar and was a second-year MD student at Delhi’s Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC). Navdeep completed his MBBS from MAMC and was currently pursuing his PG in Radiology.


His body was handed over to the family after postmortem by Sunday evening. The cremation will be held on Monday afternoon at Muktsar.

According to a Times of India, Navdeep's father became concerned when his son would not return phone calls and sent a friend to check on him. The friend discovered Navdeep's body after busting open the door, which was locked from the inside. The police were promptly informed, and a probe was initiated.

According to the reports, no note has been found, leaving the exact circumstances and motivations for Navdeep's death unknown. The authorities have requested anyone with information or knowledge about Navdeep's death to come forward and assist with the inquiry. They will also interview friends, colleagues, and family to find out more.
