BJP president Nitin Nabin's maiden Punjab visit in June as party kicks off poll outreach

PTC News Desk: BJP president Nitin Nabin will pay his maiden visit to Punjab in June, tentavily around the end of the month as party is all set to roll out its Punjab outreach plan ahead of the Assembly election in 2027.

He is expected to visit Amritsar and begin the tour by paying obeisance at the Golden Temple and the Durgiana Mandir.

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is also expected to visit the state within the next few days.

Following these ministerial visits, the BJP is set to deploy more senior Union ministers as part of its outreach campaign ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections.

The strategy comes after a series of meetings between Punjab BJP chief Kewal Singh Dhillon and several Union ministers, during which he called for greater involvement of the Central Government in tackling what he described as Punjab’s pressing challenges.

According to Dhillon, the key issues facing the state include the drug menace, deteriorating law and order, a declining groundwater table, security concerns in border areas, limited economic opportunities and a strained healthcare system. He urged the Centre to take a more proactive approach in addressing these concerns as part of a broader effort to improve conditions in the state.
