PTC News: In a remarkable instance of emergency care, Punjab’s 108 Ambulance service successfully assisted in the delivery of a baby during a critical patient transfer. A 30-year-old pregnant woman, Paro from Saifdipur village, went into active labour while being transported to Mata Kaushalya Hospital in Patiala after experiencing intense labour pains and fluid leakage.

As the situation became urgent with the baby’s head already crowning, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Pavitrjeet Singh and ambulance pilot Gurwinder Singh responded with calm precision. They demonstrated exceptional skill and managed the delivery safely inside the moving ambulance. Paro gave birth to a healthy baby en route.

Both mother and newborn were later taken safely to Mata Kaushalya Hospital. Medical officials have confirmed that both are in stable and healthy condition.

Manish Batra, a senior official of the ambulance service, praised the team’s efficiency and preparedness. “In such a high-pressure situation, our ambulance staff once again proved their training and dedication. This successful outcome is a testament to the professionalism of our EMTs, who are equipped to handle emergencies of all kinds,” he said.
