Ludhiana DC Office gets bomb threat via email; police, cyber teams investigating

PTC Web Desk: A bomb threat sent to the Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner's office via email has triggered heightened security and a full-scale investigation by police and cybercrime teams. The threat, received around 9 am on Tuesday, claimed that the DC office would be blown up using RDX.

Following the email, Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain immediately shared the message with Police Commissioner Ludhiana, who initiated an urgent inquiry into the matter. The police quickly moved into action, with multiple police teams and bomb disposal squads arriving at the DC office to conduct a thorough inspection of the premises.

Security personnel carried out a detailed sweep of the building to ensure there were no suspicious objects or materials. The authorities maintained a calm and controlled environment to avoid panic among the large number of citizens who visit the DC office daily for administrative work.

The Deputy Commissioner confirmed the receipt of the threatening email and stated that steps were immediately taken to coordinate with the police. “We have ensured that public safety remains a top priority. The email was promptly forwarded to the Police Commissioner, and both local police and cyber teams are investigating the source of the message,” said Jain.

He added that cyber experts are analysing the email to determine its origin and identify the sender. “Only after verifying the technical details will the next steps be taken,” he noted.

No explosive devices have been found so far, and normal operations have resumed at the office under tightened security.
