    Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria concluded his address and asserted that after the National Anthem, 'Vande Mataram' should also be made part of the House proceedings.

    2 MoUs signed with Japan during CM Mann's visit: Governor

    During the Chief Minister’s visit to Japan, two MoUs were signed. The Governor said the state government has strengthened the investment ecosystem in Punjab. During the visit, two Memorandums of Understanding were signed, including a ₹500-crore agreement with Vardhman Steel.


    Apart from this, meetings were also held with several corporations. Business shows held in Tokyo and Osaka enhanced Punjab’s reputation. Overall, these efforts are expected to increase investment in the state.

    Punjab Congress staged a protest against the Aam Aadmi Party government in Chandigarh. During the protest, Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring said that the government, which made big promises before the elections, is now only making statements instead of fulfilling them.

PTC News Desk:  The budget session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, beginning Friday is expected to be a stormy affair with the opposition all set to attack the government over rising public debt (over Rs 4 lakh crore) and the law and order situation, while the ruling government set to highlight its welfare initiatives. 


The session will commence with the Governor's address and tributes to the departed souls. 

Meanwhile, Congress has announced a protest march outside the Assembly led by Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and Congress Legislative Party leader Pratap Singh Bajwa.

This will be the first time in the history of Vidhan Sabha that the Budget will be presented on a Sunday, which also coincides with Women's Day highlighting the possibility of government announcing Rs 1,000 monthly aid for women.
