RSS leader's son shot dead in broad daylight in Ferozepur, accused on the run
PTC News Desk: In a tragic incident, son of an RSS leader was shot dead in broad daylight in Ferozepur's Mochi Bazaar on Saturday night. The bullet struck him in the head killing him on the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Naveen Arora, son of senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Baldev Raj Arora, used to run a moneylender’s shop in Mochi Bazaar.
Soon after receiving the information, a team of police officials reached the spot and launched investigation into the matter.
Naveen Arora was immediately rushed to the hospital in Firozpur for treatment, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
According to the information, the attackers approached and shot Naveen while he was closing his shop and heading home. The bullet hit Naveen in the head, killing him on the spot. After committing the crime, the accused fled towards the city’s Ban Bazaar.
The sound of gunfire caused panic in the market. RSS worker Rajesh Khurana said that Naveen was the grandson of pre-Independence RSS leader Deenanath Arora. He ran a grocery shop in Mochi Bazaar. The attackers shot him near the UCO Bank.
Ashok Behl, a relative of the deceased, said that Naveen’s father and grandfather were both senior RSS workers. He added that it appears the killing was carried out to create unrest in the city because Naveen’s father was an RSS member. The murder was planned and conducted after surveillance. It was a brutal killing.
