Haryana Women Commission orders arrest of Badshah over controversial song, moves to seize his passport
PTC News Desk: The Haryana State Commission for Women on Friday ordered the arrest of Bollywood singer-rapper Badshah over controversy surrounding his song 'Tateeree'.
The order follows Badshah's failure to comply with the summon, triggering commission’s chairperson Renu Bhatia to order his arrest. His lawyers said he could not attend because of a professional commitment and requested more time from the commission.
The commission has also ordered the Panchkula and Panipat police to arrest him and confiscate his passport, saying that he should not be allowed to leave the country.
The commission had earlier issued a notice to Badshah on March 6 over objectionable lyrics and scenes involving girls in the song, and directed him to appear at the Panipat SP office. However citing security concerns, his lawyers sought permission to be present through video conferencing.
