Punjab assembly’s winter session: Homage paid to departed souls on first day of session
On the first day of the winter session, the Punjab assembly on Thursday paid tributes to Amritsar train accident and Nirankari bomb blast victims.
At least, four persons were killed and many others were injured in the attack when two men on a motorcycle threw a grenade during the public gathering at the Nirankari Bhawan at Amritsar’s Rajasansi village on November 18 this year.

A two-minute silence was observed in the memory of departed souls as a mark of respect on the first day of the 16th Vidhan Sabha.

Rich tributes were paid to Longowala battle hero Brig.Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri , Maharani Deepinder Kaur Mehtab and other deceased ex-MLAs Bishambar Das and Ram Rattan Chaudhary.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh did not attend the first day of the Punjab vidhan sabha session as he is recovering from the viral infection.
