Punjab: Second dose of COVID-19 vaccination starts in all govt hospitals

COVID-19 Vaccine: Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Monday said that the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccination program has started in all Government hospitals of Punjab. The Second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is being administered to the health workers who had got their first shots on January 16. The COVID-19 vaccination drive was launched by the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in District Hospital, Mohali. While giving further details, Balbir Singh Sidhu said that amongst the volunteer doctors from various departments those administered second dose of vaccine on Monday in District Hospital, Mohali including Dr. Dimple Dhaliwal Srivastava (Pediatrics), Dr. Sandeep (ENT), Dr. Sanjeev Kamboj (Ortho), Dr. Charankamal (Forensic) and Dr. Vineet (Gyne). Punjab Health Minister also said that the Punjab Government was moving forward firmly in a fight against Coronavirus pandemic and all Health Care Worker‘s vaccination to be scheduled at least once for the first dose by February 19. Similarly, all the Front Line Warriors would be covered by March 6, 2021, while the data upload of PRI and Revenue has been extended till February 17, 2021. Meanwhile, the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan stated that no death was reported due to the Covid-19 vaccination. Deaths after vaccination are being investigated. Even as he said that the number of side effects is negligible.
