Barnala tragedy: 25-year-old lawyer dies after coming in contact with high-voltage wires
PTC Web Desk: A 25-year-old lawyer died after coming into contact with high-voltage electricity wires near Bhothna village in Barnala district. The incident took place at a newly constructed building near the Barnala-Moga National Highway.
The deceased has been identified as Advocate Manpreet Singh, a resident of Kaire village.
According to the information available, Manpreet had reached the upper floor of the newly constructed building near Kaire Pizza when he came into contact with high-voltage power lines passing close to the building. He suffered a fatal electric shock in the incident.
The victim's family has alleged serious negligence on the part of the building owners and has demanded action following the incident.

Manpreet completed his education after Class 12 and began studying BA LLB. at the Barnala Court Complex. He had also started practising law.
The incident has shocked the legal fraternity in Barnala and Bathinda. Members of the lawyers' community have called for a fair and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Lawyers have also demanded that responsibility be fixed if any negligence is found during the investigation.
Meanwhile, the owners of the under-construction building have denied the allegations of negligence. They reportedly claimed that the young lawyer had gone to the upper portion of the building without permission.
The police have started an investigation based on statements provided by the deceased's family.
