Punjab CM's OSD Rajbir Ghuman skips CBI summons in corruption case; what next?
PTC Web Desk: Rajbir Singh Ghuman, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, did not turn up at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office in Sector 30, Chandigarh, today, even though the agency had called him for questioning.
The CBI had asked him to appear at 2.30 pm in connection with the corruption case registered in Delhi on October 5. Officials of the agency waited for him well past the scheduled time, but he did not arrive.
On the other hand, the Punjab Government has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court against the CBI investigation. The hearing is expected within the next day or two. Sources say Ghuman may have avoided appearing before the CBI for now because the state government hopes to get relief from the top court.

The CBI is required to submit its investigation report to the court within two months.
Raids and the period under probe
On Tuesday, the agency carried out raids at eight locations in Punjab and Chandigarh. The case itself has been registered in Delhi. It is based on suspicious activities said to have taken place between 2023 and 2026.
