Republic Day violence: After Deep Sidhu, Delhi Police arrests man who climbed up tomb at Red Fort

While Delhi Police has been investigating the case of violence that erupted during the farmers' tractor rally, the man, who climbed up one of the tombs at Red Fort during the Republic Day violence, was arrested on Monday. Earlier, the police had arrested Deep Sidhu and Iqbal Singh. The man has been identified as Jaspreet Singh, a resident of Delhi. Jaspreet climbed up one of the tombs located on both sides of ramparts of Red Fort during Republic Day violence. Besides Deep Sidhu and Iqbal Singh, Lakha Sidhana was arrested by the police last week. The development came days after Delhi Police released photos of 20 more people allegedly involved in the violence at Red Fort on Republic Day 2021. Likewise, the process of identification [of the people] is underway, the police said. It is worth mentioning that the protesters in huge number clashed with the Delhi Police during tractor rally called by farmers on Republic Day. A section of protesters entered the Red Fort while some of them hoisted religious flags on its domes. Thousands of farmers have been protesting against contentious farm laws 2020 i.e. Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020. -PTC News
