In a serious and startling revelation, India captain Sardar Singh has been accused by his long-time girlfriend of 'attempt to rape' in a complaint filed at a Ludhiana police station. The girl, who also claims to be Sardar's fiancee, is an India-origin Britisher who visited India recently to file the complaint. She accuses Sardar of "blackmail, mental harassment and physical harassment." In an exclusive interview with the PTC NEWS, she levelled many serious allegations. While Sardar Singh denied those charges and said that he will seek legal recourse in this matter. Sardar Singh said in his defence, "I know her, but it's wrong to say that I have assaulted her. I am sad to hear about such a thing." Sardar was quoted, as saying. The veteran midfielder said he is focused on Rio Olympics and will take legal recourse. “I will speak to my lawyer about the issue. My focus is on Rio Games," Sardar said.
