SC sets aside HC order staying Haryana govt's law on 75 pc reservation in private jobs

The Supreme Court on Thursday set aside the Punjab and Haryana High Court's decision to stay the Haryana government's law providing 75 percent reservation in private sector jobs for local candidates. The apex court has asked HC to decide on the issue within a month and has directed the State government not to take any coercive steps against the employers for the time being. The HC's order has been set aside since the court did not provide sufficient reasons for staying the law. SC sets aside HC order regarding Haryana's law on reservation The Supreme Court panel comprising Justice L Nageswara Rao and PS Narasimha disposed of the special leave petition filed by the State of Haryana against the High Court's ruling. The Supreme Court set aside the stay order, noting that the High Court had not recorded any grounds for it, and asked the High Court to rule on the case within four weeks.
