Stranded Sikh pilgrims start returning from Sri Nanded Sahib

The first batch of the Sikh pilgrims stranded in Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, has started returning home. The Union Minister of Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal thanked Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar for making it happen. Harsimrat Kaur Badal took to Twitter and wrote: "Delighted to see the efforts bearing fruit now. The first batch of pilgrims stranded in Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, has started its journey back home. While wishing them all a safe journey, I sincerely thank Amit Shah Ji, Uddhav Thackeray Ji and Sharad Pawar Ji for making it happen." https://twitter.com/i/status/1253525279923933186   On Wednesday, Harsimrat Kaur Badal thanked Amit Shah for speaking to Maharashtra CM to fast track repatriation of Sikh devotees stranded at Sri Hazur Sahib. She had also requested the Punjab government to give permission to buses arranged by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) for 3 days to bring the pilgrims back home at earliest. Also Read | 14 more flights to carry 3600 Britons back home  Earlier this month, Harsimrat Kaur Badal had said that the ‘Sangat’ stranded in Hazur Sahib will return home soon. "I have spoken to Maharashtra Chief Secretary & he has told me that directions have been issued in this regard. I am grateful to the combined efforts of governments who acceded to the plea of the stranded devotees," she had said. -PTC News
