BCCI announces schedule for Asia Cup 2023: Venue, dates, schedule, other deets inside

Men's ODI Asia Cup 2023: The wait is finally over, as the schedule has been announced for the exciting cricket tournament that brings together teams from across Asia to compete against each other. 

Good news for cricket lovers as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president, Jay Shah, on Wednesday announced the schedule for the Asia Cup 2023. 


Asia Cup 2023: Start Date and End Date 

The prestigious cricket tournament will kick off on August 30 and the final match will be held in Colombo on September 17.

The BCCI secretary took to Twitter to make the announcement.

The tournament will follow a hybrid model, with four matches to be hosted by Pakistan and all of  India's matches and a total of nine fixtures taking place in the Emerald Isle.

The final to crown Asia's best will be staged in Colombo.

"I am happy to announce the schedule for the highly anticipated Men's ODI #AsiaCup2023, a symbol of unity and togetherness binding diverse nations together! Let's join hands in the celebration of cricketing excellence and cherish the bonds that connect us all. @ACCMedia1," tweeted Shah.

  

Asia Cup 2023: Groups 

India is in Group A, which also has Pakistan and Nepal, while Group B comprises Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.

   

Asia Cup 2023: Match dates and venue 

The tournament will kick off with a clash between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan, Pakistan. 

Pakistan vs Nepal – August 30 (Multan) 

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka- August 31 (Kandy) 

India vs Pakistan – September 2 (Kandy) 

Bangladesh vs Afghanistan- September 3 (Lahore) 

India vs Nepal- September 4 (Kandy)

Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka- September 5( Lahore) 

Other Super 4s to take place in Lahore and Combo and the respective dates- September 6, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15 and 17. 

Asia Cup 2023: Formats 

The tournament will be held in a 50-over format, keeping in mind the ICC Cricket World Cup, which will be hosted in India from October 5 to November 19.  

The Asia Cup is a prestigious cricket tournament held among the Asian cricketing nations, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and others. The tournament features competitive cricket matches between these teams, creating a lot of excitement among cricket fans across the region and around the world.
