Teachers’ Day being celebrated at home, PM Modi pays tribute to teachers

In India, Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year on September 5 to mark the birthday of the country’s former President, A Great Teacher, Philosopher and Scholar Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was born on this day in 1888. He was also awarded Bharat Ratna. Dr. Radhakrishnan had said that, “Teachers should be the best minds in the country” Every year this day is celebrated across schools, colleges, universities and educational institutes. The students host shows with a lot of pomp and show. They perform cultural activities and dances for their beloved teachers. However, this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the schools and institutions are shut and the celebrations are being done online, sitting at home, paying virtual greetings and wishes.
