Tractor set on fire at India Gate in Delhi, 5 Punjab residents detained

Delhi Farmers Protest News: In a violet turn to an ongoing stir against the farm bills, a tractor was set on fire at India Gate in Delhi on Monday. Five persons were detained in connection with the burning of a tractor at India Gate, the Delhi Police said. The police was quoted by news agency ANI as saying that legal action will be initiated against those detained. All of them have been identified as residents of Punjab. According to the sources, the tractor was set ablaze by a group of Punjab Youth Congress workers on Monday at the Rajpath. Around 15-20 people set a tractor on fire at India Gate. The DCP New Delhi said that around 15-20 persons were gathered at India Gate and tried to set a tractor on fire. The fire was doused off and a tractor was also removed. Those involved are being identified while the investigation is underway, the DCP said. President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, on Sunday gave assent to the three agriculture-related bills that have triggered protests across the country. President's assent came a day after Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) quit the BJP-led NDA alliance over the farm bills. -PTC News
