Actor Gayatri Joshi's husband under investigation for crash in Italy involving Lamborghini, Ferrari
PTC Web Desk: In a shocking turn of events, Vikas Oberoi, the husband of renowned actor Gayatri Joshi, is currently under investigation in Italy following a high-speed crash involving two supercars—a Lamborghini and a Ferrari. The incident occurred in the scenic region of Sardinia and has raised numerous questions about the circumstances leading to the collision.
According to the Italian news agency L'Unione Sarda, it was Mr.Vikas Oberoi who was behind the wheel of the blue Lamborghini Huracan at the time of the accident. The 54-year-old businessman now finds himself among the suspects under investigation, with the possibility of facing charges related to a double road homicide. Tragically, the collision claimed the lives of a couple from Switzerland, Markus Krautli and Melissa Krautli, and also resulted in the overturning of a camper.
Despite the severity of the accident, both Oberoi and his wife Gayatri Joshi emerged from the incident unharmed.
Public prosecutor Giangiacomo Pilia has been quoted by L'Unione Sarda as saying that the police have collected a number of videos from the accident site and are conducting a thorough investigation into each piece of evidence.
One particular video clip, captured by a vehicle trailing Oberoi's Lamborghini, reveals a line of sports cars following a camper van on a narrow two-lane highway. The blue Lamborghini attempts to overtake the van, but at that precise moment, the Ferrari behind them sharply swerves in an attempt to pass both vehicles, resulting in a collision with Oberoi's car.
Lorenzo Mascarin, who was inside the overturned camper with his wife Marina Demetz, described the ordeal, stating that the couple "faced death." He recounted the terrifying moments of confusion and disbelief during the collision.

The tragic incident unfolded as the couple was on their way to Sardinia for a vacation, turning what should have been a joyous journey into a devastating tragedy.
Gayatri Joshi, originally from Nagpur, Maharashtra, began her career as a video jockey and later achieved recognition by winning the Femina Miss India beauty pageant in 2000. She represented India at Miss India International and also appeared in Ashutosh Gowariker's acclaimed 2004 film 'Swades.'
Meanwhile, Vikas Oberoi serves as the chairman and managing director of Oberoi Realty Ltd, a well-known real estate company recognised for its upscale suburban condominiums. Vikas Oberoi and Gayatri Joshi entered into matrimony in the year 2005.
