Joy Turns to Grief: Seven-month pregnant woman, husband die in Ahmedabad Air India plane crash
PTC Web Desk: In a heartbreaking turn of events, a young couple from Gujarat—Jinal Patel and Vaibhav Patel of Keliya Vasna village in Dholka—lost their lives in the tragic Air India plane crash near Ahmedabad, along with their unborn child. The Patels had returned to India from London to celebrate a joyful milestone: Jinal’s Seemant Sanskar (baby shower), a traditional Gujarati ritual marking the seventh month of pregnancy. The ceremony took place on June 5, surrounded by family and loved ones. Their joy, however, turned to unspeakable sorrow.
As they boarded their return flight to London, fate had other plans. The aircraft tragically crashed shortly after takeoff, claiming over 250 lives,— Jinal, her husband Vaibhav, and their unborn baby. The couple, full of dreams and hope for their growing family, left behind devastated relatives and a grieving village.
"She was glowing with happiness... we were all eagerly waiting to welcome the baby," a family member said through tears. "Now we are planning funerals instead."
The Air India crash, which is under active investigation, has shaken the entire region, and messages of condolences continue to pour in from across the globe.
