UGC declares 21 universities as ‘fake, self-styled’

New Delhi [India], August 26: The University Grants Commission issued a list of 21 “self-styled” and unrecognized institutions which are under UGC Act. Commission declared these universities as fake which are not empowered to confer any degree. Universities from Delhi are:

1. All India Institute of Public & Physical Health Sciences
2. Commercial University Ltd
3. United Nations University
4. Vocational University
5. ADR-Centric Juridical University
6. Indian Institution of Science and Engineering
7. Viswakarma Open University for Self-employment
8. Adhyatmik Vishwavidyalaya

 

Universities from Uttar Pradesh are:

1. Gandhi Hindi Vidyapith, Prayag
2. National University of Electro Complex Homeopathy, Kanpur
3. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose University
4. Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad, Bharat Bhawan

Universities from West Bengal  are:

1. Indian Institute of Alternative Medicine
2. Institute of Alternative Medicine and Research

 

Universities from Odisha are:

1. Nababharat Shiksha Parishad
2. North Orissa University of Agriculture and Technol

Meanwhile, one university each from Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh feature in the list.
