US Vice President Kamala Harris tests positive for Covid-19
Washington (US), April 27: US Vice President Kamala Harris has tested positive for Covid-19 with no symptoms. She has isolated herself, as per a White House statement on Tuesday. As per the release, Vice President Harris will continue to discharge her duties from her residence and will return once she tests negative. "Today, Vice President Harris tested positive for Covid-19 on rapid and PCR tests. She has exhibited no symptoms and will isolate and continue to work from the Vice President's residence. She has not been a close contact with the President or First Lady due to their respective recent travel schedules. She will follow CDC guidelines and the advice of her physicians. The Vice President will return to the White House when she tests negative," the White House press release read. Harris, 57, is the latest in a series of high-profile cases involving the Washington elite. Doug Emhoff, Harris's husband, tested Covid positive in March, but Harris remained negative. "It is certainly possible that he will test positive for Covid, and he is vaccinated, he is boosted and protected from the most severe strains of the virus," White House communications director, Kate Bedingfield had said. White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who contracted Covid in March and also last year, and House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who comes after Harris in the presidency succession line, are two recent high-profile cases in Washington.
