Viral: Delhi family 'leaves' Udaipur luxury hotel without paying Rs 5.74 lakh bill
PTC Web Desk: A family of four from Delhi has come under police scrutiny in Udaipur after allegedly refusing to pay a hotel bill of Rs 5.74 lakh following a 10-day stay at the luxury The Oberoi Udaivilas.
According to the complaint, Anurag Yadav had booked the stay through Maker Baha Travel Agency on August 12, 2026. He reportedly checked into the five-star hotel with his wife and two children and stayed there from August 14 to August 23.
During their stay, the family allegedly used several hotel services, including lunch and dinner.

The dispute reportedly arose when the family was presented with a final bill of Rs 5.74 lakh at the time of checkout.
Yadav allegedly told the hotel that the travel agency responsible for the booking would make the payment. However, the agency reportedly told the hotel that no such payment arrangement had been agreed upon when the reservation was made.
With the payment still unsettled, the hotel approached the police.
Ravindra Singh, the property's liaison manager, lodged a complaint at the Ambamata police station in Udaipur.
Sub-Inspector Ajayraj Singh said the initial findings suggested a possible case of fraud. The police are looking into whether the tourist and the travel agency may have acted together as part of an alleged plan to avoid paying the hotel bill.
An investigation is currently underway and the allegations against the people involved have not yet been established.
The Udaipur incident comes shortly after another alleged hotel fraud case that made headlines across India.
In July, the police arrested 69-year-old Bingson John, who was accused of cheating more than 300 luxury hotels over a period of nearly three decades.
Investigators alleged that John used different identities and presented himself at various times as a foreign tourist guide, English teacher or yoga trainer. He allegedly stayed at five-star properties, used their facilities and left without clearing his bills. The police also accused him of taking valuable items from some hotels.
The latest case in Udaipur, however, is still being investigated. The police have yet to establish whether any fraud or collusion actually took place.
