3 Indian-American students killed, two injured in Georgia car crash

In Alpharetta, Georgia, three Indian-American students—two of them were women—were killed when their automobile flipped over. In the vehicle accident, two more Indian Americans suffered injuries. According to preliminary information, the driver lost control of the automobile and it collided with a tree line.

3 Indian-American students killed, two injured in Georgia car crash

PTC News Desk: Their fast automobile in Alpharetta, Georgia, transformed into a turtle, killing three Indian-American students and injuring two more. Two of the people killed were women, and they were all eighteen years old. According to Alpharetta Police, speeding may have been the main cause of the fatal vehicle accident.

The five Indian-American teenagers attended the University of Georgia as well as Alpharetta High School.


The three students that passed away were Anvi Sharma, a first-year University of Georgia student, Sriya Avasarala, and senior Aryan Joshi of Alpharetta High School.

Mohammed Liyakath, a senior at Alpharetta High School, and Rithwak Somepalli, a student at Georgia State University and the driver of the Honda Accord, are the two injured pupils.

The car wound up upside down in a line of trees when the driver lost control, according to the police. At the site, Aryan Joshi and Sriya Avasarala were discovered deceased.

Rear passenger Anvi Sharma later passed away at North Fulton Hospital from her wounds.

Although preliminary evidence points to speed as a potential contributing factor, police are still investigating the cause of the incident.

According to Instagram pictures from the organization, Sharma sung with the UGA Kalakaar a cappella group and Avasarala was a member of the UGA Shikaari dance squad, as reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Joshi played cricket for Alpharetta High School and was a senior there.

On May 14, near Alpharetta, Georgia, an accident occurred on Westside Parkway, somewhat to the north of Maxwell Road.
