After US and Canada, China spots unidentified object flying over its waters
Beijing (China), February 12: China has spotted an unidentified object flying over waters near Qingdao and the authorities were preparing to shoot it down, according to a report by The Paper.
According to The Paper, an employee at the Qingdao Jimo district's marine development authority stated that "relevant authorities" were preparing to take down the object. According to the news report, the employee stated that fishermen in the area have been told to be cautious about their safety.
The development comes after the United States and Canada recently shot down three high-altitude airborne objects. On Saturday, an American fighter jet shot down another unidentified flying object on the orders of US President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
In a tweet, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, "I ordered the takedown of an unidentified object that violated Canadian airspace."

He claimed that an American F-22 from the North American Aerospace Defense Command, which is jointly operated by the US and Canada, successfully fired at the object over the Yukon.
Trudeau also stated that he spoke with US President Joe Biden on Saturday afternoon. "Canadian Forces will now recover and analyze the wreckage of the object," he said, adding, "Thank you to NORAD for keeping the watch over North America."
Meanwhile, the White House said Biden and Trudeau "discussed the importance of recovering the object in order to determine more details on its purpose or origin."
The White House confirmed on Friday (local time) that the US shot down a second 'high altitude object' over Alaska. According to White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, the Department of Defense shot down a "high altitude object" in Alaskan airspace within the last 24 hours.
"Department of Defence was tracking a high-altitude object over Alaska airspace in the last 24 hours. Fighter aircraft assigned to US Northern Command took down the object within the last hour," Kirby said.
