In a strong worded statement Araghchi described US strikes as criminal behaviour for attacking what he calls peaceful nuclear installations.
“The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences. Each and every member of the UN must be alarmed over this extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior,” Iranian Foreign Minister said in a post.

“In accordance with the UN Charter and its provisions allowing a legitimate response in self-defense, Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interest, and people,” the post added.
The Foreign Minister urged the global community to take cognizance of the “dangerous and lawless” actions taken by Washington. Following Foreign Minister’s post, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a forceful condemnation Sunday following US airstrikes on its nuclear facilities, calling the attacks a direct assault on its sovereignty. The ministry labeled the strikes "unprecedented" and called on the United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to take immediate action.
