Israeli strikes on Lebanon: Death toll reaches 182, over 700 injured as Israel bombards Hezbollah targets
Israeli strikes on Lebanon: At least 182 people were killed and more than 700 injured as Israel intensified its strikes in southern Lebanon on Monday.
Children, women, and medical personnel are among the casualties. Israel bombed multiple areas in Lebanon as its security forces warned residents to leave their homes and other places where the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group is claimed to keep weapons.
The Israeli military launched around 300 strikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. It is the highest daily toll recorded in nearly a year of cross-border conflicts, raising concerns of a full-fledged war between the two sides, which may upend the region.
Earlier, the Lebanese health ministry reported that Israeli raids on southern towns and villages resulted in 50 deaths and over 300 injuries, including children, women, and rescue workers.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) revealed in a post on X that over 300 Hezbollah targets were hit in Lebanon on Monday. The Israeli army also released a photo of military chief Lt Gen Herzi Halevi approving fresh attacks from military headquarters in Tel Aviv.el Aviv.
“The Chief of the General Staff approves strikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon from the IDF Headquarters Underground Operations Center. So far, more than 300 Hezbollah targets have been struck today,” the post added.
