Japan rolls out e-Visa program: Good news for Indian as Japan rolled out its e-Visa program for multiple countries, including India.
This single-entry visa allows a validity of up to 90 days and targets travellers entering Japan by air with an ordinary passport.
The introduction of electronic visas (e-Visas) via the Japan e-Visa system has streamlined the visa application process, particularly for those seeking tourism in Japan.

✓ You are not a national/citizen of visa exemption countries/region.
✓ You reside legally in the following countries or region:
India, Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the USA
✓ You are an ordinary passport holder.
✓ You are traveling to Japan by air.
✓ You are planning to stay in Japan for less than 90 days (short-term) for the purpose of tourism.
✓ You are applying for a single-entry visa.
Step 1 - Verification of necessary visa to visit Japan
Verify the type of visa necessary to visit Japan, and the documents to submit.
Step 2- Application information entry
Enter the information necessary for the online visa application.
Step 3- Notification of examination result
The results of your visa application will be sent to your registered e-mail address
Step 4- Visa fees payment
Please pay, if necessary, the visa fees notified to you by e-mail to Japanese overseas establishments where you are applying
Step 5- eVISA issuance procedure
Payment required: eVISA will be issued after the payment.
Free of charge: eVISA will be issued automatically after STEP 3
