Miraculous Survival: Couple cheats death in two separate plane crashes on same day

The couple faced unimaginable moments as both of their planes plummeted to the ground. As fate would have it, Stefano Pirilli's aircraft encountered trouble, closely followed by Antonietta Demasi's plane. Miraculously, firefighters promptly rescued them from the wreckage at each crash site, alongside both pilots, including Demasi's pilot, Paolo Rotondo (38) Although the woman suffered a pelvic injury and pilot Rotondo sustained a head wound, they all survived the harrowing incidents.
Recalling the sequence of events, Stefano Pirilli expressed deep regret over what was Antonietta's first experience in flying, stating, "Our day began with excitement, but it took a sudden turn as both our planes ended up crashing separately." Despite the adversity, he emphasised their shared fortune in surviving and conveyed heartfelt concern for the injured pilots, affirming that their thoughts were with them.
Detailing the circumstances leading to the crashes, Stefano Pirilli said, "We encountered unexpected weather changes and a sudden transition from day to night – mist rapidly obscured our view as darkness fell."
Attempting to land at Busano while informing Antonietta of their plan, they encountered unforeseen challenges. Meanwhile, her pilot decided to aim for the airfield near San Gillio. However, visibility drastically reduced due to mist and darkness, leading to the unexpected crash into a meadow, Pirilli recounted.
Despite the chaos, Stefano Pirilli's primary focus remained on the well-being of his fiancee and the pilot. After alerting emergency services and unsuccessfully trying to reach Antonietta, he witnessed the unusual circumstance of firefighters responding to their second plane crash. "I rushed straight to the hospital and have stayed there since. My only hope is for Antonietta and Paolo to recover swiftly," he added.
