Punjab Assembly Elections 2022: Ajnala is located in the Amritsar District of Punjab. It is one of the 117 seats of Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Congress' Harpartap Singh Ajnala won the last assembly elections and is the current MLA of Ajnala. He won the 2017 elections by defeating Amarpal Singh Bony Ajnala of Shiromani Akali Dal with a margin of 18713 votes. Voters According to the voter list for the 2017 assembly elections, the total number of voters in the constituency is 145171. 174 polling stations were established by the election commission during these elections. A total of 121231 votes were cast in the constituency Ajnala and the percentage of voting was 83.51%, which was recorded higher than the state average. Candidates Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gave the ticket to Rajpreet Singh Randhawa for the 2017 assembly elections. Shiromani Akali Dal, on the other hand, gave the ticket to Amarpal Singh 'Bony' Ajnala as its MLA candidate from the Ajnala constituency. From Congress, Harpartap Singh Ajnala contested as MLA candidate from Ajnala constituency for 2017 assembly elections and managed to grab the seat.
