Amid a decline in coronavirus cases in the state, the schools for classes 10, 11, and 12 in Punjab have reopened on Monday, July 26. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had announced relaxation from COVID restrictions on July 20. The relaxations included a hike in the number of people in indoor gatherings to 150 and outdoors to 300, subject to an upper limit of 50 percent of the capacity. Captain Amarinder Singh had said schools would be allowed to open for classes 10 to 12. Meanwhile, only fully vaccinated teachers and staff would be allowed to be physically present. Coronavirus in Punjab

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 5,98,794 after new cases of COVID-19 were reported from the state in 24 hours, as of Sunday evening. A total of 117 people recovered from COVID-19 in 24 hours while 6 people died due to the contagious disease. -PTC News
