148 pilgrims leave for Amarnath Yatra from Jammu base camp today
Nearly 148 pilgrims left for the Amarnath Yatra from the base camp at Jammu on Sunday.
148 pilgrims including 49 women boarded 8 vehicles. They left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in the early hours of Sunday. A tight security arrangement is made.
This group of pilgrims is heading to Baltal base camp. From there, they will undertake the shorter 12-km route in Ganderbal district.
Till yesterday, a total of 2,81,574 yatris had visited the cave shrine for 'darshan' of the naturally-formed ice-shivlingam.

However, early melting of the 'lingam' this year had badly impacted the arrival of the pilgrims at the shrine.
